It is a technology that allows people to communicate in real time, in audio and video simultaneously, regardless their geographical locations.
Localization
This technology is available at:
- Santa Monica Central Library - 3C Building;
- Umuarama – 4G Building.
Purpose
- Video conferencing is used for training, meetings, classes, qualification exams and academic defenses, and other related matters that require session transmission.
Number of users per session:
- The Video Conference rooms have 15 seats (Santa Mônica Library) and 30 seats (Umuarama Library).
Operating hours
- Santa Mônica Library - Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Umuarama Library - Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

- 1 Videoconferencing device able to connect 3 more points, featuring remote control;
- 2 46-INCH color LCD TVs featuring remote control
- 1 Notebook
Umuarama Library
- 1 Videoconferencing device able to connect 3 more points, featuring remote control;
- 2 46-INCH color LCD TVs featuring remote control;
- 1 multimedia projector featuring remote control;;
- 1 projection screen;
- Telephone line;
- Air conditioning featuring remote control;
- 1 desktop computer;
- 1 Notebook.
Booking
- The technology has limited number of licenses counting the main one plus 3 simultaneous points. Therefore, users must make reservations, which may or may not be authorized, depending on the availability of the resource at the time.
- The presentation call-off must be done within 48h in advance via e-mail.
- A server’s request to follow the videoconference is done through Sistema de Ordem de Serviços da Prefeitura Universitária.
- There will not be a server available to assist in this resources usage; the Library only offers the room.

General Guidelines
- The user is responsible for obtaining connection data from the videoconference room and the equipment usage, the Library is not responsible for connection failures during the scheduled period; All participating points must have videoconferencing equipment; It is advisable to test the connection before the presentation, which must be previously scheduled, and the presence of the local participant and the remote point is required;
- For presentations on PowerPoint slides or other tools, the file must be on a pen drive or other media when using the Library notebook. To use the equipment itself it must have a VGA input;
- The requesting user must attend the room at least 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time;
- Cell phones must be in silent mode or off;
- It is recommended to turn off the microphone whenever the participant (s) of the other remote point (s) is speaking to avoid feedback (noise);
- On-site food consumption is not allowed.
Usage Restrictions
- Production or transmission of data or materials considered illegal or inappropriate for the academic environment;
- Advertising.
Failure to comply with the clauses above will result in impairment to the user, such as usage suspension.
